nempnett Farmhouse

A luxury home from home, for the whole family.

Set in the heart of the Chew Valley, Nempnett Farmhouse sits quietly in the rural hamlet of Nempnett Thrubwell, just outside Blagdon. Surrounded by rolling pasture and big Somerset skies, this characterful five-bedroom farmhouse is a generous, relaxed base for families and groups of up to twelve.

With the Mendip Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the doorstep, it’s a place made for muddy boots, long walks, and time outdoors. There’s plenty of space to arrive and unwind, with off-road parking for up to eight cars, a large enclosed garden, and wide, welcoming living spaces that feel lived-in rather than polished.

Enter via the utility room — perfect for boots, dogs and outdoor kit — before moving through to the farmhouse kitchen and dining area, where proper meals are cooked and shared. For slower evenings, the formal dining room, with its original stonework and open fireplace, offers a setting made for long suppers and good conversation.

Outside, the garden invites you to linger. Sink into the hot tub as birds settle for the night, watch the stars come out in skies free from light pollution, or head to the separate games room for a friendly game of pool, table tennis or darts. When the temperature drops, light the wood burner and gather in the sitting room for a quieter end to the day.

Upstairs, five thoughtfully arranged bedrooms offer flexibility for families and friends, including super-king, king, twin and family rooms, with spacious bathrooms to make mornings easy. There’s also a quiet study space if work needs to be briefly checked before the day properly begins.

From the farmhouse, Blagdon village is close by for local shops, pubs and the beautiful Blagdon Lake. Chew Valley Lake is just a short drive, with cafés, play areas and open space for children to roam. Wells, Cheddar Gorge, Wookey Hole and Axbridge are all within easy reach, while Bristol and the Somerset coast make for relaxed day trips when the mood takes you.

Whether you’re here to explore, celebrate, or simply slow down, Nempnett Farmhouse offers a chance to experience Somerset as it should be — rooted in nature, full of space, and meant to be shared.
